Sweet people come to Hookahdome party Nov. 4th!

Dear Illuminaughties,

Hookahdome is throwing our third fundraiser, "Soul Candy III", at Porn Palace, the weekend after Halloween. Saturday, November 4th from 9pm to 6am.

We learned everything we kow from Sweet parties back in the day, so I'm always flattered when you guys show up at ours :)

There'll be a bass-heavy dance floor room, and also a Hookahdome-style hookah lounge with awesome live performances every hour or so throughout the night. And in the back room we'll have an eclectic jam space, where you can hang out & hear each other's conversation, with space for freeform acro-balancers, and acoustic world musicians to jam, etc.

Destiny is on our side this time, I mean, this party is going to be really, *really* good!

At Soul Candy 2 last year, a lot of you guys showed up at the last minute, and had to wait outside in some cases for tickets - Don't do that! Like with Sweet parties, you gotta get your ticket in advance! Go to the website and get 'em there. If you do it by tomorrow, I'll mail your ticket to you so you can float straight in at the door.

http://soulcandy3.com

Hope to se some of you there!

Love,
Soren

Help! Join the Save the Frog Foundation!

so you may remember the year of Oacious and the dome, truck, generator, and large frog car. The frog showed up early and somehow in transport or unloading was cursed to die a sad early death even before Jen k arrived. Very much a buzz kill. The year of the unfulfilled frog car it was. She, and others I think, worked very hard for that frog. Today the frog rests safely buried in Mikols garage waiting for liberation. I would like to help Jen and the frog be happy together. I want to suggest the possibility of a team Oacious illuminaughty effort to help Jen see her dream fulfilled and the frog a new life. This probably means a set of new batteries which are pricey, though they have 4-6 year life. Would it be possible to contribute to this worthy cause?

I'm hoping to have enough energy to make it to "service" at the church on Saturday (I have an all-day Board Mtg at work w/dinner after---but if somehow there's a ticket lingering around I'd love to come). Either way, I hope to see y'all soon.

Here's an invite to a great party happening in SF in 2 weeks---a benefit to help a friend fight cancer.

* * Burning Solstinox: Connections * *

Saturday, March 5th
SoMarts - 934 Brannon Street (8-9th Streets, SF)
8pm-4am
$17 presale/ $20 door
A Benefit for http://www.friendsofcurtis.com/
Tribe: http://friendsofcurtis.tribe.net

Insane DJ action (2 Rooms of Music w/some of my favorite Breaks and Chill!) and, can I tell ya, I can’t wait to do some serious dancing this year!

I’ll also be doin’ some a-greetin’ & some a-rubbin’!
Soft Spaces to land!
Full Bar!
Smoking Patio!
Back(sides) by popular demand….the Erotic Ice Bar!!!
(Pix of it—and some of the folks who’ll be there—in action at http://evilalipresents.tribe.net).

Burn-ing Sol-stin-ox n: definition
1. The Saturday night halfway between burns, when we are equally distant from two burns and farthest away from any.
2. A holiday of hope, rebirth, love, and the creative thrill of radical participation, when we celebrate playa joys in default.
3. The night your friends from all around the bay will connect at SomArts, 934 Brannan St, SF, 8PM-4AM.
As your psyche switches from its vault of dusty memories to new visions of chaos, spend an outrageous evening in a burning village that will keep that rocking playa vibe alive for another six months. We do this all volunteer, totally non-commercial, and following the 10 Burning Man principles, so radically include yourself and participate! From theme camps to theatrics to art cars, bring it on just like last year, to an environment filled with lighting, art, and a magical trace of dust in the air.

(Hmm, I wonder if I’m the only one reading this who doesn’t have the 10 Burning Man Principles memorized….Admittedly-a-Bit-Jaded-Ali)

I'm always amazed at how well some of you guys prep for parties. I usually keep it down to my outfit and some consumables, but I want to step up more, esp since Revival is such a long party, and am wondering what y'all are planning on bringing.

Here's what's in my bag so far:
For me:
shiny outfit (tbd)
comfy outfit (being made as we speak)
big furry coat (doubles as blanket/sleeping bag)
thick black socks w/the fur ankle cuffs
water bottle w/carabiner

To share:
extra hair accessories
blacklight-reactive glitter gel (untested)
Ola Loas (mega-B vitamin electrolyte fizzy drink packets)
notebook & pens

I'm sure I'll bring more as it occurs to me.

How about you? Whaddaya got in your bag, baby?

Here AND the email list...seems like folks are busy finding jobs/working and stuff.

What's the scoop for Halloween? I'm hearing about certain things (like an Oakland underground...an Opel party in SF).

(man, I woke up WAY too early today)
